This year has not been kind to big-name enterprise software stocks — with some of the sector's biggest names like Microsoft and Salesforce down sharply. Fears that top artificial intelligence models from Anthropic and OpenAI could displace existing enterprise software have weighed on the software sector. At Snowflake's investor day last month, Chief Executive Sridhar Ramaswamy said the company is seeing benefits from its focus on creating "the definitive data platform that people would want to use if they wanted to get value from AI."
